"I feel bad posting a bad review but I went to this salon 2 and both times had a similar poor experience. Both with reception and service. The first time I got a mani pedi. The receptionist with curly hair was very cold and unwelcoming. The work done on my manicure was good and lasted but the nail tech was a little huffy , not sure why, I’ve been getting my nails done for years always ask the same thing , my nails are my own, but assumed maybe it was just a bad day or something. The pedicure was the opposite, the lady was SO nice but the work was not it. And after she freshly painted my toes (the wrong color btw and when I asked about it she said my eyes weren’t working ) she had me soak them in the bath?! And of corse my nail plate expanded with water and the polish came off the next day from a gel pedicure. I booked again just manicure because it did last ,and hoping the customer experience would be better but unfortunately it was not. The new nail tech I got was very huffy and the receptionist lady from the first visit was just as rude. My tech got seemingly annoyed when I asked for simple things like can you file my nail shorter or sharper. When I went to pay I was charged a “long nail fee” for $10! They said if your natural nail is past your fingertips at all they charge you $10!!! (My nail extends 1 centimeter past my fingertips) That was the nail in the coffin for me. I went home and reshaped my nails because the lady was too annoyed to do it even though I was charged for having nails in the first place. In response to the below reply: the only notification I got was at payment. And it was only charged the 2nd visit. My nails were the same length as the first and I had submitted photos with my appointment. No one said a thing. There is no sign posted, no option for “long nails” on your appointment booking page. There was no “measurement “ taken . And no chart presented. The lady simply said you have long nails and there is a fee for that. It’s just scammy, off putting and frankly, tacky . I could understand if my nails were 2 inches long past my fingertips. But there is no sign or any customer notification for this supposed “fee” ."

"Genuinely confused why this salon has 3.7 stars… I had an incredible experience here with Emily! I’ve tried several salons in NYC where service was slow and insane prices. Vanity Projects is reasonably priced and transparent when I asked them about prices. Emily was super nice and helped make my vision come to life! I’m definitely coming back and can’t wait to do more fun nail art. Highly recommend!"
